Sagittarius Business House in Wrocław BREEAM Certified as “Excellent”

Hamburg, 20. June 2019 – The Sagittarius Business House just received its BREEAM International New Construction certificate, scoring an “Excellent” rating. The BREEAM audit was carried out by WSP Polska Sp. Z oo. Definitive for the rating were the transport and waste concept as well as the building’s energy and water consumption.

The Sagittarius Business House is an office building with a total useful area of more than 25,600 square metres. It is located on the street Sucha in Wrocław, in the immediate vicinity of the Wrocław Główny railway station. The new scheme was acquired by Warburg-HIH Invest Real Estate last year and is earmarked for an individual fund. Its main tenants are EY and Bank of New York Mellon, who occupy a combined 90 percent of the available space on long-term leases. Property management for the building is provided by Cushman & Wakefield.

“We are delighted that our investment asset Sagittarius Business House in Wrocław was awarded a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ certification,” said Matthias Brodesser, Head of Transaction Management International at Warburg-HIH Invest. “It shows that our Poland portfolio meets a verifiably high sustainability standard.”

The acronym BREEAM is short for “Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method” and is the oldest and most widely used certification system for sustainable construction. It was developed in the United Kingdom in 1990. BREEAM uses a simple points system in eight assessment categories to grade a given building on a scale of four and to award a corresponding quality label.

“Receiving the BREEAM International New Construction certificate with an ‘Excellent’ rating confirms that the building managed by us satisfies the highest technical standards and uses environmentally friendly technical solutions,” said Lena Januszko, Property Manager with EMEA Asset Services at Cushman & Wakefield.
